Camp Molly

Camp Molly provides the opportunity for these young women to meet and engage with strong female role models in their community and the entire 4-day camp experience is free.

Our Story

Our goal at Camp Molly remains the same; to show young females aged 15 to 18 years old that a career in the fire service is a viable and rewarding option.
Camp Molly pays tribute to the first female firefighter on record in North America, Molly Williams. In 2019, the fire departments of Halton Region hosted the Inaugural Camp Molly, and with the generous support and donations from many charities, clubs, and business owners, it was an overwhelming success.

Activities

Katryna arrived to Camp Molly and found her kit and began trying out the items to make sure they fit.

They had most items tagged already with her name on it. Plus a water bottle and a few tee-shirts with Camp Molly

Here they were trying to see how many people fit into an ambulance.

After every day they brought back their kit to a storage room...hey, they put away their stuff!!!

Needless to say, Katryna always had a smile. She loved this Camp and would have enjoyed a summer camp along those lines but there is none for her age group!

A proud "fit" mother talking to her daughter. What a good role model! Love it.

Katryna's leg for her team in this competition was to run the pylons and drag the hose and fire it into a red square which allows the other person to begin pulling the wounded patient. The other components also were running up stairs with a hose, pulling up a hose from the ground floor up to the third floor.

The first day...no one signed...the last day, lots of signatures

Proud Mother

Then came graduation

I loved this picture as her mother (Kathryn) was sitting at the front, but Katryna is looking at her proud grandparents. Katryna accomplished something really important here and we're proud of her.
